Chalfont St Peter Cricket Club - Junior Section

Overview

We aim to promote cricket in the local community and help to develop the skills of young cricketers from the age of 6 by offering regular Saturday and Sunday morning coaching sessions at Chalfont Park during the season and winter training all run by qualified ECB coaches in a safe environment (we are ECB Clubmark accredited and all coaches are CRB-checked).

Our objectives are to:

  1. to help each young player to grow in a challenging and supportive environment
  2. to support their progression through the junior age groups and into the senior teams
  3. to have fun

The whole ground is used by the Junior section on each Saturday and Sunday in the season.

The Club enters sides in all of the Bucks Cricket Board County League and Knockout Cup Competitions from age groups Under 10 to Under 17 and  an Under 17 side in the Kookaburra Mid-Bucks  Youth League and Knockout Cup competitions.  The U9s do not play regular representative cricket, but we do take part in Kwik cricket festival.

We hope most of your initial questions will be answered on this website, but please contact Phil Noot or James Vallance for more details.

Subscriptions & Registration

Click on this link Junior Subs & Registration form  to be taken to a separate page on subscriptions and registration forms

If the subscription is not paid, we will be unable to select your child for matches.

It is essential we have a completed registration form for each child.  This allows the coach to know of any relevant medical conditions, provides emergency contact details, and ensures that we have your permission for the child's participation; a new form is required each year.  For the safety of your child it is important that the club is informed of any medical condition or allergies that may be relevant should your child be involved in an accident at the club.

Before the start of each session, you should register your child - please be aware that we will have to turn your child away if we do not have a completed registration form.

Equipment requirements

No child will be permitted to bat in either a match or coaching situation using a hard cricket ball without a helmet, abdominal box (boys), bat, pads and gloves.  No exemptions will be given.

The club can provide this equipment, but would recommend that each player has their own abdominal box and “pouch” pants (these have a pouch that holds the box in place) – boys are seldom happy to borrow these!

When representing the club whites are preferred but are not compulsory.  Club caps and shirts can be purchased from Hawkinsports using the links on the club website – the teams look so good when all turned out with club kit.

Junior representative matches

There are also some representative games for U9 (Yr 4).
