CSPCC: The Return of Recreational Cricket: Please Read

10 Jul 2020

Dear Members, Players, Parents,

I am sure that you are all aware that we have been given the green light to return to recreational cricket, which is fantastic news for everyone.

Attached are a couple of documents that show how we are allowed to get the game back on, please do read, and for the juniors, please explain to them the new guidelines.

Senior Players

Note that subs are reduced in line with a shorter playing season. Please can you complete the attached membership form and email it, along with confirmation of bank transfer, to Tim Aylott via email

We want to minimise contact with paper, so ideally this needs to be electronic. Remember you can type into the form using ADOBE PDF reader, or print it, fill in and either scan, or take a photo with your phone.

Good luck with your friendlies this weekend, and in the shortened league format as of next week.

Junior Players

We plan to commence junior training on Friday 17th July and Saturday 18th July, and will continue through September. We have reduced subs slightly in line with a reduced number of sessions, and note that the training time has reduced from two hours to ninety minutes. I have taken on board the feedback last year, with regard to the level and type of coaching that we do, and we now have a focus on using more experienced Level 2 coaches. We will have detailed session plans for each week and training will no longer just be a net session. This of course does come at a cost, hence the slightly reduced session times.

Please do complete the subs forms and email them across to Tim, we are all volunteers and would rather spend time focusing on Cricket and training, than chasing subs payments.

U12 - U15 will train Fridays from 18:00 to 19:30 (note that as we go through September we will need to start the sessions earlier due to light)

Reception - U11 will train Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 11am.

We have had to split into two groups to minimise the number of people at the ground, hopefully next year we will be able to return to our normal Friday night slot.

The U9 - U15 year groups will be playing matches this year, however they will be friendlies. The team managers will be contacting local clubs to arrange, sadly the Bucks leagues are not viable to run this year.

Please note that the club will not be providing hand sanitiser, so please can you ensure that you bring your own, wash your hands regularly and respect the social distancing protocols. Everyone that comes to the club will need to be signed in, so can I please ask that when you come to junior training or games, that you register as a first priority. Note that the new protocols are evolving, its new for all of us, and things may change week to week as we tweak things for a better experience.

We are here to answer any questions that you may have, however can I please ask that this is via email or Whatsapp.

Future Legends

Note that our coaching partners Future Legends have been excellent during the pandemic, providing support to the club to allow us to get nets and training sessions in place. For any juniors that are looking for additional coaching, either 1:1 or small group coaching during the summer holidays, please do get in touch with Nigel Bruce to arrange, discuss pricing and availability. I know, from personal experience my my two lads, that the focused training is helping them develop at a faster pace. Nigel can be contacted via or 07841 628403.

Good luck everyone, its good to be back, and hope to see you all soon.

Regards, Ian
