Match report Chalfont St Peter ultimately completed a comfortable home win against Beaconsfield B on a fine summer's evening, although it wasn't without a few alarms.

Batting first, CSP found the pitch slow and the bounce uneven, as they struggled to 6-3. The middle order of Matt, Alfie, and especially Ed who top-scored with a determined 19, repaired the early damage, but with regular wickets the innings lasted just 14 overs as CSP were bowled out for 89. Again, 7 batsmen were bowled, which would suggest the boys still have to tighten their defensive technique.

Any fears that Beaconsfield might reach their target were eased in the opening overs where some accurate bowling and alert fielding reduced them to 6-5 in the 5th over. A 7th wicket partnership of 24 brought some respectability, and with Chalfont giving 20 runs in wides and no-balls, Beaconsfield had an outside chance of victory. But Alfie changed that when he came on, bowling the last 3 batsmen with his 2nd, 3rd and 4th balls to complete a stunning hat-trick.
